Ouch!

We the people are in a world of hurt. Our best hope in Connecticut is to throw out Ned Lamont, Dick Blumenthal, and Joe Courtney and send in Bob Stefanowski, Mike France, and Leora Levy. We need representatives who have experience in the real world; who are not going to stay in office for decades; who are too smart to want to breathe the polluted D.C. and Hartford air for the rest of their lives; who actually speak the truth; who have the courage to vote on issues; and who are wise enough to recognize the dangers of lobbyists’ money.
Speaking of lobbyists, remember the primary debates between Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards? Edwards suggested getting the lobbyists out of D.C. and asked the others to commit then and there to doing so. Hillary Clinton blanched at the thought, and Barack Obama said that everyone had some dirt on their hands, but suggested that getting rid of the lobbyists was impossible. The next thing we know, Edwards was tangled in a honey trap and indicted for funny busy with campaign funds. Interesting.
We need to send Ned, Dick, and Joe home for our own good, but we need send Blumenthal and Courtney home for their own good as well. People laugh at me, but I feel sorry for them. Yep. I do. Courtney used to seem to want to do some good and so did, possibly, Blumenthal. But that was a long time ago. For whatever reasons, they are now pathetic party rubberstamps, who will go down in history as weak men who slavishly supported policies that hurt their country and their fellow citizens. People may take Courtney’s bags of candy and endure Blumenthal’s gladhanding, but they run to the sink afterwards. That’s a sad legacy.
