Mean Tweets, Dead Whales, and Bad Language

CT GOP Chairman Ben Proto and State Senator Heather Somers stepped up to the plate this morning on the Lee Elci show. Proto gave a red pill, and he stopped conceding the language wars to the Democrats. Somers came loaded for bear.

Today Proto finally pointed out what caller Dan from East Hampton has said on air for years. Government takes 50% of your earnings. That's like giving your entire paycheck to the government until mid-May. Every year. Proto also made the distinction that I have mentioned on air ad nauseam.  Health care is actual medical attention. Everyone gets some health care.  Health insurance is a method of paying for that care.  And as Congressional hopeful George Austin pointed out, a lot of Americans don’t have health insurance, but a lot of illegal immigrants do. You can only get to that clarity by using the correct terms.

Somers tackled the wreckage wrought by 50 years of Democrat control:  unaffordable electricity, outrageous taxes, waste, and the financial and ecological cost of medieval technology - the windmill.  Way to go Heather.  But it would have been a good time mention the Texas catastrophe when its windmills froze.  Connecticut tends to freeze pretty often.

Now for President Trump’s tweet about the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife.  Candidates knocking on doors should simply say that they agree that the tweet was awful.  Common ground.  Listen a bit and then say:  Does Connecticut feel unaffordable?  I’m struggling with my electric bill; a lot of people are telling me that no tax on tips will be a game changer; a lot of new parents are signing up for the federal baby bond, etc.  At the end:  The Connecticut Democrat Party has been in charge for 50 years.  Do you think it’s time to re-balance?
