Joe Biden's Climate Crisis

Joe is right about the climate crisis. Now, bear with me. Sadly, Republicans and Independents are reluctant to listen to Democrats ringing alarm bells. Look what happened when they ignored Hillary Clinton’s repeated, emotional warnings about the nefarious conspiracies designed to undermine our election process. And now they are deaf to Joe Biden pounding the drum of the climate crisis. https://jsg2000.com/blog/conspiracy-theories.

So, what should Joe do? Destroy the American economy in pursuit of clean air? That doesn’t seem wise. Besides, our air is pretty good. (Lots of links at the bottom.). Overtax a failing electrical grid with electric cars? Doesn’t sound smart, but it does sound profitable for some. Wind and solar? Naw. Killing whales and birds seems at cross purposes with protecting the environment. And what about kids mining rare minerals for batteries? Surely, that keeps Joe up nights, too.

After steady improvement since the 1990s the US air quality dropped a bit recently. Years of enormous forest fires are a big part of the problem, both for our air and for the globe’s. How about managing our national and state forests so that we don’t have endless huge fires? Maybe some educational programs to explain how unmanaged private property is a source of fires? I suspect that there is a lot of money to be made in taking care of our national inheritance, and we can look to the historical practices of the Native Americans and Europeans. We even used to do it ourselves. (Look up Gypsy Moths.). And while we’re at it, hire lots of forest rangers to patrol our forests; not that any of the fires are arson.

Joe knows that China is a major polluter. As Red Jancke pointed out on Lee Elci’s radio show, the Paris Accord allows China to increase its pollution until 2030, and China is keeping its word. Its pollution levels rise every year. During the blasting hot summer of 23, Joe sent John Kerry to China to beg them to cut down on polluting the environment, but Xi was downright rude.

So, the US and global climate crisis is Joe’s crisis: politically and personally. He does not have the wit or the will to challenge China. It’s hard to bite the hand that fed you, and took a picture while you ate.

For good information, conversation, and community listen to Lee Elci, 6-10 a.m., M-F

You can hear Tony DeAngelo Tuesdays on Lee and Youtube:

On Thursdays, Colonel Rob Simmons, former CIA breaks it all down for us, and George Colli updates us on Fridays. You can also catch George at: https://thectcapitalist.com   Red Jancke is on Tuesdays and at https://www.the-red-line.com/about.

“The headline targets in China’s updated NDC are pledges to reach a peak in CO2 emissions before 2030 and achieve “carbon neutrality” before 2060.'“
